The Brincor Pump House

The Brincor Pump House is one of the oldest surviving structures in Quenost Cross. It was designed by the engineer Tobias Vesvesves and completed in 1895. The structure stands 59 metres tall.

Tobias Vesvesves drew up the plans after a public subscription raised funds for the project. Construction took three seasons, using stone quarried a few miles inland. When it opened in 1895, local newspapers described it as the most ambitious public work the town had attempted.

The Brincor Pump House was restored in the late twentieth century and remains a familiar landmark for residents and visitors.
